Community Bank Partnership Announcement
The Camberwell Hockey Club announce with great excitement the Sponsorship of Community Bank Canterbury as a Platinum Sponsor.
The Community Bank has come on board to provide significant funding toward the cost of our new Scoreboard. After wonderful support and donations from our members in 2019 the Community Bank has provided the remaining 60% of funds required.
“The scoreboard is just the type of project that our Community Bank network loves to get behind, says Nick Coker, CEO of Canterbury Surrey Hills Community Finance who operate the four Community Bank branches in Canterbury, Ashburton, Surrey Hills and Balwyn. Not only does equipment and facility upgrades like this enhance the sporting experience for players and spectators, it provides us with a longer term commitment to the club, and an opportunity to develop a strong partnership between our two organisations. We have supported a number of local sporting clubs with funding for new electronic scoreboards and we are excited to be working with Camberwell Hockey Club on your new scoreboard.”
The Community Bank network has invested more than $6M into the local community since the opening of the Canterbury Branch in 2003. The Camberwell Hockey Club has banked with the local branch since it opened. Banking with the local Canterbury Branch will have benefits for the Camberwell Hockey Club.
The Scoreboard is currently being shipped to Australia and plans are to be in operation for the start of the 2022 Winter Season. The state-of-the-art equipment will be in use for all games played at Matlock Reserve and will feature ease of operation for all.
The Community Bank Canterbury has previously been involved with Camberwell and we have been the grateful recipient of significant funds over time. We are delighted to see this association continue with this project.
The word “Community” is not just in the name of the bank, but at it’s heart. The philosophy of community support is central to their business model. The Community Bank empowers communities to be sustainable and prosper through a revenue stream of a locally operated branch. “60% of the banks’ profits go back to the community” says Nick. In turn, the Community Bank aims to grow relationships with the community through it’s product and service financial offerings.
Please welcome Community Bank Canterbury as valued members of our Hockey Club supporter base and thank them for their generous contribution.
Simon Winter, President.
